★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Principal of this school Shirley Maihi (more commonly known as "Sherry"), has been quoted in the media on the issue of a climate change strike as saying: "they try to keep kids in class for every school day unless they're sick - and they don't intend to change that".
Sherry apparently thinks that a student (bare in mind this school teaches from years 1 to 8 not high school), missing a single day to do something good in the world is terrible.
How many days did she miss when she went to primary school as a kid? However that's a poor argument, maybe missing those days has clouded her judgement on what is right in the world (hence her comments in the media).
Sherry must live a horrifically boring life. She probably wears the same boring shoes to work she has done ever since she decided to go to teachers college all those many many many many years ago.
Don't sent your kids to this school. They'll turn out miserable, just like Sherry
UPDATE - On the 29th of May it seems that Finlayson Park School closed so that Sheery could ask for more pay. Seems ironic as soon as a protest is going to benefit her back pocket she throws her previous disdain for missing school/work out the window.
Doesn't really show leadership dos it?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My review was removed? I will keep reposting my review every time it gets deleted. My child was told she made a coward act by a teacher because she seeked help of a from her sister that also attended this school, she was bullied for a whole year by a girl that was in her class. Why she seeked help from her sister instead of a teacher, is because they never helped her. Brushed her off as if nothing had happened. And they will never call you to tell you that your child got beat up.
