The Flying Kiwi experience has been awesome! The Ultimate Explorer tour was a fantastic way to see the magical New Zealand. Lots of options for activities - hiking, cycling, swimming, kayaking, rafting, skydiving just to name a few. There's also always option to enjoy my day with a more relaxing pace when I felt like it. Never felt bored for a second during the 28-day tour. And I’ve met many wonderful people, the nice and friendly guides and all those like-minded travellers. We had so much fun together! Great time in NZ with Flying Kiwi!!

I had the best holiday with Flying Kiwi. Besides the fact that New Zealand is absolutely stunning, this company made sure the group saw the best spots, did amazing hikes and activities and overall just had the most wonderful time together. Their communication is perfect, they keep you up to date at all times, before and during the trip. Our 2 tour guides Genna and Charlene were the absolute best and they went out of their way to make sure we had an awesome experience. The camping was great as well and the group (24 people) was really fun. 10/10 will recommend this to anyone who is looking for an amazing adventurous (!) time in New Zealand, meet a lot of fun people and you don't have to worry about a thing in the mean while.

If you ever think of doing a tour in NZ, Flying Kiwi was the best way to see the most amazing things of this country. I did the Ultimate Explorer Tour and had an awesome time visiting both islands and meeting new friends all over the world. My tour guides Genna and Jess, and afterwards also Robbie-John and Frankie, they did a perfect job, showing us every day the best things at every place we went, gave us so much interesting information about NZ itself, and were awesome. It was so much fun, even the bus rides felt like an adventure when you drive through this beautiful nature. You know you had the best time ever, when you just don't want to leave the bus on your last day...I'm coming back on day, that's for sure! Thanks for making my time in NZ awesome in every way Flying Kiwi and of course Genna, Jess, Frankie and Robbie-John. Keep it up! :)

I had the time of my life on my Ultimate Explorer Tour Flying Kiwi tour guided by Magan and Dennis. Their professionalism, organization, and genuine passion towards this beautiful country truly shone through and they did whatever they could to make it an unbelievable experience. Their energy, enthusiasm, and positiveness really set an amazing vibe for the whole tour group and we fed off of it. The food, accommodations (especially the bush camps!), and activities were spectacular. We saw what I felt was the best of the best when it came to New Zealand's pristine beauty and every moment was truly immersive. They definitely pack as much of the country into the tour while still allowing you extra bits of time in the uniquely special areas. It's the perfect combination and really entices you to come back to NZL ... hopefully to stay for a lifetime :D. Our FK family was incredible, a varying age range of eclectic personalities that enhanced the experience considerably. Made some friends for life which is invaluable. Couldn't recommend this company more, simply spectacular. I'll repeat it once more ... time it of my life :).

Where to start? The awe inspiring scenery, the adventures along the way or the amazing people on the bus? Each will remain as wonderful memories of the very best time of my life. From the moment first stepping on the bus with a very warm welcome by tour guide and driver Robbie John and tour guide Lea, I knew this would be the beginning of changes in me and how I look at the world and the people around me. I know a lot of work goes in to making a group of strangers become a bonded caring group of travel mates but Robbie John and Lea made it seem effortless. Each day traveling in the bus with requests for music, for no music, for A/C, for heat were all handled with a smile. The stories of New Zealand history and Maori legends and the beautiful morning song all were special gifts to us from Robbie John. Every day was beautiful and held such amazing moments and I would say ‘Ah this is the best day!’ then play repeat for the next days. I can’t imagine a better way to explore the variety of beautiful landscape that New Zealand has to offer and bike riding along roads and bike paths and trails then setting up the tent for the night and being part of the cook group and the laughter around the dinner table, all just parts that made up this wonderful experience. The adventures along the way hiking and kayaking in Abel Tasman, cruising in Milford Sound, camping at a shearers station, sailing in the pristine waters of the Bay of Islands, floating in the Waitomo Glow Worm Caves and sky diving for the very first time at 60 years of age; all were over the top experiences for me and still that smile is instantly on my face at my first thought of the trip but the very best is the people I met on the bus. Each one enriched my life in a very special way and the last few days were hard – saying good bye to pieces of my heart. But no worries! I aim to spend the rest of my traveling life reconnecting with those pieces of my heart. Thank you Flying Kiwis for such a wonderful experience! I will be back on the bus one day! It’s intimidating to plan a trip around an entire country, and try to hit all the great places while saving your sanity with the frequent plane rides or long drives. Sometimes you can end up spending more time getting to destinations than really enjoying them. Flying Kiwi took the stress of planning and executing an amazing trip of a lifetime to New Zealand and made all of our “must visit” locations possible. We were lucky enough to have time to do the 2 week South Island tour and the 10-day North Island tour. As Americans, we know getting that much time off work is difficult, but I really don’t know how you could pick one tour over the other as they were both incredible. My husband and I generally don’t book into guided tours groups or buses, and the trip was our first as adults. We were so impressed from the beginning with the communication from the office staff - as they were happy to answer our questions and figure out logistics over the phone and email - to the tour guides who were were so friendly and engaged and worked hard to get us booked into every activity we were interested in, and made even rainy days amazing. We can’t stress enough how freeing it is to jump on a bus, have someone who knows the country and locations well drive you there, give you time to see everything, and then drive you to your next location. We saw far more of the country than we could have even known about if we had tried to do it on our own. Couple that with a bus-full of like-minded travelers with incredible stories and talents you learn about as you cook and camp with them every night, and you have an inkling of an idea of how it is to tour with Flying Kiwi. We loved all the locations they picked, and the guides were genuinely interested and excited to know how activities went for passengers, tweaking time frames and drives to fully accommodate everyone’s wishes and needs. The food is amazing, delicious home cooked healthy menus that cater to anyone’s dietary needs. I am vegetarian and never was made to feel as an inconvenience or was given just a salad as a meal (the plight of vegetarians…haha) We had varied meals filled with fresh grilled vegetables, curries, pastas, etc. There really are activities for everyone; hiking, biking, beautiful scenic drives, bungee jumps, dolphin swims, literally everything you could want. We were also impressed with the fact that one could go on tour and not book any extra activities, and simply do the hikes and bikes and get an amazing full experience of New Zealand from that! It isn’t necessary to book and pay for all the extras everyday to have an amazing tour. Flying Kiwi has tapped into something that is difficult to explain in a review, they have somehow harnessed an entire life experience, more than "just a trip", and made it accessible to anyone who is interested. They welcomed us into their country, showed us all their amazing sites, and never make us feel like an outsiders or a tourists, but more like old friends they want to show the best experience to. They have changed our minds about group tours and have given us an experience so much deeper and more meaningful than we could have found on our own. Hopefully that helps in your decision to book a tour!

We did a TON of research before booking and picked Flying Kiwi because it was the best value. But on top of a great value, it was so much more. Honestly, this is the best way to see New Zealand. We did the 21 day Overland Explorer tour. It was hassle free and completely enjoyable. You are able to tailor your trip by picking your unique excursions in each place. You can do ANYTHING from endless hiking and biking to adrenaline fix’s like skydiving and bungie jumping! The tour is extremely organized day to day, so you get everywhere on the north and south island with enough time to enjoy it. There are more than 30 meals included (up to 3 per day) and they are well prepared in the commercial kitchen (and delicious). The bus is really comfortable and allows you to sit back and relax to enjoy the jaw dropping scenery of New Zealand. All of the camping equipment is provided and is of sound quality. We also added bikes to our tour so we were able to take advantage of the scenic bike trails in each locale (this is really a must do, so worth it). Many of the camp sites were epic and we would have never sought them out if planning on our own. I would highly recommend Flying Kiwi to anyone visiting New Zealand! We wish we could have stayed longer with the tour, we didn’t want to leave and will definitely be back!
