FMG have supplied a floor as part of flood reinstatement. Damage is exhibiting after install. The flooring importer/supplier has examined and advised that FMG contractor installation practice has been incorrect and resulted in damage to flooring. FMG isnt interested in the problem and have advised, "FMG is unable to assist you with this matter as the obligation sits with the contractor responsible for completing this work". We have no relationship with the installer, we paid FMG for the insurance and FMG provided the reinstatement by employing a subcontractor. We have notified commerce commission of what we believe to be a breach of obligations under Consumer Guarantees Act. We have also cancelled policies and gone to AA insurance, lower costs and better service experience.

I went to make my first insurance claim EVER IN MY LIFE after a no fault fire destroying part of my stock. FMG advised me that they actually have had me insured wrong so my whole claim is invalid as they had incorrectly advised me and went whoops sorry. Despite my many phone calls ensuring all my details were correct at all l times. I wasn't even dealing with the same person all the time it was a different person each time, doing it wrong each time, not calling me back each time. Once when I asked for my statement they sent me someone else statement and private details/. I rang and told them and they didn't send mine still. .Luckily, this situation wasn't at all my fault and so I wasn't charged by the fire department . The fire was 6 months ago. I just found out today I was "incorrectly advised". What a waste of time. That would have been disastrous had I needed it. Do not trust them with nothing overly important. Honestly the first time in my life I thought about going to Fair Go. because they have made error after error after error and refused to escalate or remedy, just swept me under the carpet every time. Probably even this post is a waste of time and they will delete it :) Zero stars. Five boos.
