★ ★ ★ ★ ★ my experience with Fond Farewells was hideous when i rang them to make a time to take my poor wee fur baby to them there was no empathy.
the person on the other end of the phone was cold. i explained that i needed to bring my cat in for cremation he made the booking for 10.00am the next morning. i arrive with my cat and was taken into the wee room to say my goodbyes in this room was a table with see through plastic on it. I was then told that it would be at least 7-10 working days before my cat would be cremated at that they would just put her in their chiller. I told them that this information should have been given to me when I phoned. I asked why it would take so long and was told they had a back log because they don't just do Christchurch they do all of the south island and they put more than one animal in the cremator at the same time. I was horrified at the lack of service i received. i took my fur baby home with me and made other arrangements where i was treated with sympathy, respect and courtesy from the beginning. i certainly would NOT recommend Fond Farewells

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have now lost two of my babies and have had them both cremated with Fond Farewells. I found the service really good and I liked that there was a choice as to how to have the ashes returned - something for all budgets.
The staff I dealt with were really considerate and empathetic.
Also, they have so many choices for memorial products which I really appreciated as I felt like I could get a personal, unique tribute for my baby rather than something generic.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I've used Fond Farewells for the cremation of all my pets - 3 cats and 4 rabbits now. All have been collected from, and returned to, the vet for me. All have been returned nicely presented (the cats I purchased wooden urns which are on the shelf, the buns in cardboard) and accompanied by a certificate.
I will use Fond Farewells in the future as well - I found the service provided through the vet to be simple at a stressful time.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fond Farewells were wonderful after our family dog Angel passed away. The service we received was efficient, empathetic and most importantly so very kind during a hard time for us. They kept us well informed during the whole process. We also chose to get brass paws made and we are so glad we did. They're very special. Couldn't recommend them highly enough.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Absolutely outstanding service. I was a little worried about having my first pet cremated but the team at Fond Farewells were professional and very caring. They treated Lily with the respect and dignity she deserved and were genuinely empathetic of my loss. I would recommend Fond Farewells to anyone needing the perfect send off for their fur baby.

The staff are so warm and compassionate which was really appreciated as such a difficult time. My cats' cremations were handled professionally and respectfully. Their ashes were returned to me in wee boxes with lovely cards offering the staffs condolences. Thank you sincerely Fond Farewells

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I rang Fond Farewells to arrange to take my 13 year old dog for cremation. There was no empathy nor flexibility in appointment times and I was told to just "drop the dog off at the vet, we will collect from there". She was my companion and I wanted to complete her journey. Needless to say I found a more empathetic company. Was quite disappointed with simply the lack of compassion after just losing my dog early that morning.
