★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Large picnic lawn area , with easy access to the river. Clean well kept toilet facility. No camping permitted . Ten minutes drive to nearby village of Okaihau and the popular cycle Rail Trail.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lovely dog-friendly spot, you can have a refreshing swim in the pools with crystalline water. Some time is too busy because it is too close to town, so always keep your stuff locked. I never had an issue, but just in case. Dogs are just allowed in the picnic area, not into the tracks that start in there
