Furnished Rentals Holiday House - Waiake

Spectacular Views St Heliers hosted by Furnished Rentals. Spectacular views indeed. The rest of our experience with this Auckland based furnished rentals company was definitely 1-star. The photos tell a thousand words. - Dirty, very dusty and unhygienic and definitely not Covid-safe compliant. - Food and suspect stains on kitchen benches, floor and couches and spare toilet rolls in bathroom cupboards - Poor quality bedding, furnishings, linens and towels. - Undisclosed room full of junk near front door with junk clearly visible through frosted glass panels. - Also undisclosed: two showers are really only one with a not-full length screen in the middle, so not private and waste water from one shower flows into the other to reach the single drain. - Lack of transparency with uncommon and unfair booking terms and conditions, sent to us after we had paid our booking in full (thousands of dollars), including: -4pm check-in -Entry to property without notice by staff and trades people -Monitoring of and added charge of electricity usage - T&Cs included house rules from the owner about things like the kinds of shoes we were allowed to wear in the apartment and not being allowed to use soap in the shower - Lots of notes left around the place about not using floor heating, not scratching hot plates - Poor communication and guest services: when I emailed Furnished Rentals about the cleanliness issues, I was offered toilet paper and cleaning products to be dropped off to clean it myself **We had already been charged an additional cleaning fee of $250 as part of our booking - After I pointed this out, Furnished Rentals sent the same ineffective and now disgruntled cleaner to the property as a remedy, who then expected me to manage her performance and not just at one time - she arrived with only one hour before she had to leave and it was communicated she would return the next day to finish off. That's three days of our stay, entwined in cleaning that was paid for and should have been done prior to our arrival. We only stayed one night due to lack of cleanliness and unprofessionalism and I wish we hadn't stayed at Spectacular Views St Heliers at all. I will never book with Furnished Rentals again. In fact this experience puts me off using any small, local booking agencies at all, which is a real shame as that means only using the big booking platforms. But at least there is transparency, professionalism and clear avenues for resolution of any problems with those platforms. Unlike with Furnished Rentals.

I've used furnished rentals twice now and had such enjoyable stays. Both properties were exactly as described online, (if not better in person) and I found Amy and Tania were super helpful and accommodating. I stayed at "Stunning in St Heliers" and "Spectacular Views in St Heliers". Location was 10/10 too. Would highly recommend using this business if anyone is after a lovely stay in the city of sails :)
