★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place is one of the hidden culinary gems of NZ. It’s hard to believe you’re in little old Hoki when you see the beautiful presentation and taste the food these ladies produce in their tiny kitchen. Just had our second meal in 2 months, and it was sensational food, drinks and service on both visits. As a new mum with a baby in tow, the staff were great about having a wee one with us, and I felt really comfortable breastfeeding (something which not all establishments do well!!). This place needs hats... Cuisine if you’re reading this, I hope you visit soon

Now I am not a foodie at all, so I never leave restaurant reviews, but I enjoyed every second of the process of eating the amazing food these ladies served us so much I felt I had to share. The atmosphere is fantastic, the service perfect and the food is out of this world. I highly recommend Gatherer!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The gatherer and the staff that work there are exceptional, I was lucky enough to visit near the opening and many times since. I’m currently living in San Francisco and have to say the food easily matches if not exceeds many trendy American restaurants I have visited in my travels.
The interior and atmosphere is beautifully thought out, the staff are friendly and accommodating.
The gatherer has become a word of mouth hit over the years surprising and converting many friends I have who aren’t always into plant based/whole foods.
