★ ★ ★ ★ ★ On a good day you might see 10 vendors. Extremely short hours between 6am and 8am and selection of produce is limited in range and mostly at supermarket prices AND pre-bagged in plastic! They say it competes with the up-market, stuck-up Farmers Market which opens at 9am on the same day. Hardly. One is grossly amateur and the other is just an open-air hoi-polloi get-tegether. Nothing incomparison to the fabulously diverse Avonddale Market on a Sunday (7am-midday). One of these markets needs to move its trading day to a Sunday and the Early Bird needs to trade for longer. 2 stars for trying but 1 star for marketing nouse.
