β β β β β Great place & atmosphere, & delightful staff, I loved it.
They get you to fill out a questionnaire first so you can tell them exactly what you want.
Only 4 stars for a couple downsides;
- no temp. check (room was a bit cold)
- would've preferred focus on just my back or bring in some legs instead of arms for the half hr Swedish massage
- facials were shorter than they were supposed to be
Pretty average pricing for a place like this, but
It's all there & available on the website, so id definitely recommend & visit again

β β β β β I have been debating about whether to post this but have decided to go a head. I used to love going here, it was a good vibe and the girls were lovely but with my last experience I don't think that I will be going back. Now my fingers aren't perfect as I have a disorder where I pick at the skin on my fingers, so they can get really red and sore.
I went after one of my attacks as I wanted my hand to feel pretty for Christmas and New year. As I was getting my nails done the tech filed over one of my bad areas, I pulled my hand back as it obviously hurt, she looked at me confused "did that hurt?" She asked, I replied yes, and she then told me "You really need to stop picking". Now I am well aware of this issue, and very self conscious about it to the point where I have literally cried to my husband because I am so annoyed at myself. I felt defeated after she said this, wanted to get out of there but my nails were only half done. I also complained about the look of my thumb multiple times as it wasn't filed even and had huge dips in it... I gave up in the end and went back the next day to have another tech attempt to fix it, it was better but noticeably shorter than the rest.
Side note my friend also went here and got nicked with a nail file but the same tech, her finger is now badly infected.
Edit: my friend found out it was a fungal infection. Find picture attached.

β β β β β I was booked in for gold pedicure with Chloe, it was amazing! One of the best Iβve had in whangarei. Really professional, treatment was amazing & gel polish looks fantastic. Would highly recommend!

β β β β β My bridesmaids and I came to Gold Beauty Bar the day before my wedding where we had massage's & mani/pedi's. We had such a great time. The girls made it a really enjoyable experience and they were all such fun. Super accommodating. They're also great at nail art! Highly recommend!

β β β β β Have experienced very unsatisfactory service from Gold Beauty Bar, very inconsistent. Booked in for laser and before even receiving my first treatment my appointment was rescheduled 3 times 2 of which were canned within hours of the appointment. Then on Tuesday I was due to get my 3rd treatment and my appointment was rescheduled within 4.5 hours of my original appointment, during that conversation I was told that I would get a call back from the owner to discuss my grievances but have not been given that courtesy.
Im a fulltime working mum so having to rearrange myself and my families schedule for a treatment I have paid for and booked 4 weeks in advance for seem a bit slack to me. Gold beauty bar asks for 24 hours notice for cancellations but have not given the same.

β β β β β Absolutely loved my experience here at Gold Beauty Bar, started with a foot massage with mineral salts then moved into a full body massage with hot stones that was satisfying to say the least and despite the pressures of everyday life, I was able to relax and enjoy myself then the cherry on top was getting my finger nails done. Thanks Rebecca for helping me feel so special, relaxed and calm βΊοΈ
