From Mom with a Camera to Baby Whisperer - a tale of passion

in 2011, I got my first SLR Camera. I was so excited and so inspired to capture my cheeky little children in perfect clarity. I spent days and weeks learning about my little old camera, figuring out just how to make my fast-moving toddlers stand still in time. It fascinated me. It made my heart so happy each time I caught a reaction on camera. Their response to their first bubble blown, a video of their first steps, the first time they say Mama and all those other precious moments I wanted to keep forever. I started taking more and more images, telling their story. And what a story little boys make. And what a story it painted of motherhood. The tears, the tantrums, the falling asleep in high chairs, climbing over gates, everything it encompassed.

Whenever my friends came over, I would take pictures of my kids with their kids, and then of their kids, before long I was doing little “photo sessions” with all of my friend's beautiful kiddos. After plenty of encouragement from family and friends and a lot of doubting myself, I took the chance and started doing Photoshoots for next to nothing. I didn’t even mind. It wasn't about the money. It was about the experience, the meeting of new people, the capturing of expressions, all the emotion it brought. Cheeky Moments Photography was born. The 14th of November 2014 was the day it all started. The day this page was created. The day I posted the first images of my rink a dink backdrop that I was using. In January 2019 I rebranded to Graceful Emotions Photography. I strongly relate to the meaning behind Graceful Emotions. Gracefully capturing emotions is now and will always be my passion.

From then on, I have consistently grown my wee company. Getting bigger, upgrading my gear to the latest and greatest technology, building a custom studio to feel like a home away from home, taking on more clients, spending hours learning about my craft, and practicing to get better. Today, Photography is my full-time career. I spend over 70 loving hours per week catering to all of my beautiful clients. It’s true what they say when you love your job, it’s not a job. I thoroughly enjoy my sessions with all of my clients. The passion for my profession is very much still there and the creative outlet from custom designing sessions for my beautiful clients is an amazing experience.
