★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Grand has great history with the Queen staying there un '53. We stayed in the same room (35) as she did and went out into the balcony as she did. It's such a pity that after 68 years it isn't maintained a little better and incorporates the rest of the hotel to a higher standard.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Our room was clean and tidy. The vintage nature of the hotel is really cool and makes for a cool aesthetic. We were there on Tues/Wed and it was still quite noisy from the bar downstairs. Parking was also a bit difficult to find as the hotel didn't have it's own.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Currently lying in bed listening to the karaoke. I was warned about it but no one said how late it would go. Currently it's midnight and appears to just cranking up. The bed linen is clean, the tiny room is fine, the water pressure is ok, not fab, the decor faded but I like it. But, who on this planet, offers rooms and early morning karaoke underneath them?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I'd put minus 5 if I could, horrible security, nasty, overpriced drinks, the locals are great, the punters are amazing, they make this place a place to be, as for security, rude and disgusting.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I booked a room for me & my friend. I booked it online. I had to secure my spot by putting my bank details which was understandable but I felt uncomfortable doing that. Cause you never know. Me & my friend went to the hotel, all the lights were off, no way to get into the hotel. There was a sign on the door to ring them which I did but there was no pick or answer, I called twice. Then was told to go to the bar, on your left. There were no lights on at the bar. So we canceled our booking & there was no fee charged to cancel the booking. Not great service.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's above a bar so noise it's expected however our room wasn't clean. There were stains in the bath and rubbish under the bed. Usually we accept value for money except our room was not cheap at $90 a night. It was worth maybe $50 a night and we would be happy. Staff are friendly and helpful so the stars are for them. It looks like they have a few nice ronnovatwd rooms but we got one of the older ones. Would stay again but not for that price. It's got a good location.
