About Greenhaugh Gardens & Nursery
Greenhaugh Gardens have been developed over the past 40 years and surround a colonial homestead built in 1874. Mature trees give the two-hectare property its bones, while ponds and naturalised plantings add whimsy. On one side of the garden box-hedges rein in the Austin and old roses which with perennials and self-seeding annuals are the backdrop of a central French fountain. A pergola, clad with wisteria, rambling roses and clematis leads through a tapestry of bearded iris and from there the garden visitor is naturally led from one vista to another. The 'creek bed', Mediterranean gardens, a woody grove and a bank of vibrant cannas. Everywhere you go you will find irises- the garden holds the heritage collection of Ron Busch's Irwell irises- a legacy continued. Greenhaugh begs for repeat visits, late winter puts on a show of snowdrops while spring bursts open with daffodils, hellebores, primula, crocus, and bluebells. Summer is when the hot colours shout out and Autumn is rich and russet.
There are many places to picnic, with farmland and windmills in the distance as your backdrop. The plant nursery is the last delight. This holds an array of useful landscaping plants that sit beside the more unusual. Many of the plants can be posted or couriered to you. Just ask.

No charge to enter Nursery. $10 per Adult for Garden entry. Open Monday to Friday. Hours 10am to 4pm. Weekends and Public Holidays by arrangement. Check this website for closure due to Functions.
