About Grow My Business
Hi, I’m Iona and the founder of Grow My Business. I’m a big picture thinker who is practically minded and understands all the challenges of running a small business. I have a background in business strategy and operations, working with start-ups as well as global businesses.
I bring a strategic view to web design ensuring all websites are customer and results-focused to meet your business goals.
As well as GMB, I run Chrysalis for Women, a Wellington networking group for women, and I’m an instructor on all things “website” for The Helpful Academy. I recently co-authored a book “The Perfect Recipe for Creating Awesome Content” and I am excited about other collaboration projects in the pipeline.
Ben, who is also my son, brings flair and functionality to the design. He has a background in graphic design and illustration as well as web development which means he has the rare ability to design both visually and practically. An innate problem solver he is always looking at how to improve on things and do them better.
He’s the one that gets involved when we need clever solutions, researching new functionality or design and then customising this to meet our client’s needs.

provider as we didn’t want a generic website and wanted to have input. We also wanted a site that was easy to navigate and could show the range of products we stock. There were specific challenges along the way such as integrating our POS (MYOB RM) to reflect real time stock levels. We can also select and upload new products directly from our POS. The website is easy to update and is attracting lots more orders than our old website.

These helped me to make headings and define what to write in each part. During the initial free 30 minute consultation Iona had looked at my old website and made insightful comments about useful parts and parts that could be more effective, in terms of attracting clients. This set the scene for me to be focused during the website development and for me to be in integrity with how I wanted the website to be. I really appreciate that she has also sent videos about how to look after the website as well as information about getting known. It feels like a complete package and not just about making a website. As a technically challenged business owner I love that they are able to explain things in simple language and don't make me feel like an idiot. I feel as though they are in my corner and when I have new issues or need something resolved they will find the RIGHT solution - not just the easiest. Their communication is also speedy and they just get things done! I've sent many clients to them and their websites are functional as well as beautifully designed.
