Dr Katie Sickorez has a decade of experience as a specialist psychiatrist. Her career has largely focused on providing community mental health treatment to adults, but has also encompassed medical education and administration. Katie was appointed Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at two universities in the US, and has trained US medical students as well as registrars in both the US and New Zealand. She served as Medical Director of a large community psychiatry clinic in Texas before immigrating to Aotearoa New Zealand and settling with her family in the Hawke's Bay. Katie worked as a consultant psychiatrist at Hawke’s Bay DHB before moving into private practice to focus on her passion of trauma-informed care.
