HB Doulas - Havelock North

My name is Tere,

I am the Māmā of two beautiful daughters, the mother of eight babies with wings, and married to an amazingly supportive husband in the beautiful Hawkes Bay.

My journey to becoming a parent was difficult, living with undiagnosed endometriosis for 13+ years, recurrent miscarriages and ultimately needing IVF at 25 years old.

Our journey ignited a passion in me to support people whenever possible, before, during and as they enter their own parenthood journeys. When I think back to what we went through, I now have a profound appreciation for our incredible bodies, birth, babies, science and what it means to have support.

As a Doula and Child Birth Educator, my goal is to provide a non-judgmental, emotionally connected, evidence-based service, which will allow you and your partner/whānau to make informed decisions during your pregnancy, labour/birth and as new parents.

The transition into parenthood can be a challenging time and many of us do not have our"village" close by to provide support.

At HB Doulas I will walk alongside you on your journey, listening, encouraging, researching, nourishing and reassuring you that you are loved, safe, supported and doing an amazing job.

I am halfway through my Diploma in Transition to Early Parenting Education through Ara in Christchurch. I have been blessed to work with many families during their pregnancies, birth and into parenthood and I find that being with wāhine and their whānau is the best way to understand how to support an individual journey.
