History

Hose and Coupling Distributors (NZ) Ltd was formed in 1995 as a specialist supplier of industrial hoses and fittings. The owners of the company came into the business with over 40 years combined experience in the industrial hose and fittings market.

In 1996 Hose and Couplings Distributors (HCD) opened the company’s second branch in Dunedin with branches opening in Christchurch and Wellington soon after. Each branch opened with managers with considerable experience in the industrial hose and fittings market. HCD had now established itself as one of the market leaders in this market.

In 2004, HCD acquired Rubber and Foam Ltd based in Hamilton. Rubber and Foam Ltd was a leading supplier of conveyor belts, rubber products and hoses in the Waikato and Northland region of New Zealand.

HCD changed the company name to HCD Flow Technology Ltd to reflect the wide range of fluid handling products and services offered to customers.

In 2006 Richmond Conveyors (BOP) Ltd was purchased and an HCD Flow Technology branch established in Mt Maunganui. This increased the service levels HCD can offer to customers in the Bay of Plenty and Waikato region.

EWL Dunedin Ltd was acquired by HCD in 2007, adding a new range of products such as the Enzed Hydraulic Mobile Hose Doctor Service.

HCD Flow Technology remained a private New Zealand owned company for 23 years from 1995 - 2018. The company was sold to SAECOWilson and became a division of SAECOWIlson Ltd in June 2018.

HCD Flow Technology, a division of SAECOWilson Ltd continues to seek growth opportunities that will provide customers with a nationwide service of high-quality products and technical support.

In October 2020, HCD's conveyor department, including its Whangarei and Hastings branches, were merged with Conveyor & Transmission (C&T), SAECOWilson's conveyor division.
