★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A few years ago, my husband and I got our windows kitted out with security grills which HP installed for us. When I first enquired about how I would access the windows to be able to clean them behind the security grills, the man said, "Oh, it's easy! You just unscrew the grills using a special fitting." Cleaning the windows was my only concern as I was happy with the grill materials and the look. So we went ahead and got them installed. After they were installed and the man had been at our home checking on the install, he changed his story to our having to be very careful at removing the grills by unscrewing them because the screws could easily be stripped, and that we'd probably be better to lift out the window to clean it. That was a completely different story to when we were first inquiring about the product. A couple of years on and it has become a real difficulty for us. Every time I want to clean the windows, I have to wait until my husband is home to lift them out. Our windows are VERY heavy, and it is totally impractical to lift them out every time I wish to clean them. We are now at the stage where we are considering reinstalling the grills ourselves using hinges and inside bolts. I am very disappointed that the man (I don't want to name him) was not honest with us at our time of inquiry. I feel that he was being purposely deceptive so as not to lose the sale. Honesty is essential in any relationship, and particularly when you are trusting businesses to deal straight with you and you are investing hard-earned money with them. I would never use their services again because of this, and I couldn't recommend them to others because of this issue.
Update:
The new owners got in contact with me after reading my review. I told them the problems I had, and they sorted them out for me free of charge. Really great to deal with and were true to their word to help me out. The manager even rang to check in with me that I was happy with the work his guys had done. I was. I have amended from 3 stars to 5. Thanks to the new Home Plus owners. :o)
