Hospice is an International Movement with a specific philosophy of care; it is not a building. The Hospice philosophy accepts death as the final stage of life. Hospice affirms life and does not hasten or postpone death.
Hospice care is available to all terminally ill patients, not only those with cancer, and to caregivers, family and whΔnau. Hospice care is available to all who seek help or are referred to us and is totally free of charge, regardless of age, race, religion or financial circumstances. Hospice care has a unique whole person approach – which means physical, spiritual, emotional and social needs are equally important. We support our patients so that their last days may be spent in ways they choose that are important to them, ensuring this time is spent with dignity and quality, surrounded by loved ones. During this time we also support those supporting the patient. We then support the family and whΔnau in bereavement.
