β β β β β The room was extremely run down. No heating other than a small oil heater which had nil effect on a double level family room. The toilet had a leak from the window (I hope!) so there was water all over the floor. The actual toilet was not secured to the floor and so was very unsteady. This place requires a lot of work to bring it up to scratch.

β β β β β Owners were very kind and attentive to any needs. Quiet little place close to food and shops and now far from downtown Auckland. Each unit has it's own dedicated parking spot.

β β β β β Loved the many times I've stayed here. It's like home away from home. Positioned really well to petrol stations and countdown is a 15 min walk down the road, dairy and fish and chips 5 mins in the other direction.

β β β β β Honestly as with many of the other reviews i certainly agree it is run down and could be alot cleaner. Definitely needs new carpet and better cleaners. Bed wear wasnt great and looked like grease stains on the duvets. Considering the price i was not impressed. HOWEVER very friendly helpful owner and the fact we could have the dogs there and a private courtyard for them was definately a big plus. Its a pet friendly hotel and if you want to book in here, you must understand its appropriate.
Personally if i was a pet friendly motellier, i wouldnt want my new carpet damaged from doggy accidents. All in all great stay guys and thanks for the hospitality.

β β β β β Their wireless connection is non-existent. The room (2 storey family unit) we stayed in needed a lot of work to meet minimum level. Peeled and fraying carpet, saggy couch, smelly extra bed, dirty kithcnen floor were observed. Basically the management needs to do a lot more room quality checks. The room photos used to advertise do not accuratelty reflect the condition of the room we used. However fair to say the front staff were listening and accommodating to my enquiries. I would not go back though for nearly $200 a night.

β β β β β Walking into the room you'd have an immediate sense of 'homeliness'. Everything looks, feels and smells clean! Kitchen is well equipped, enough to be able to prepare your own food. Staff is really nice and friendly. Surely will come back in the future.

β β β β β We were welcomed by staff at the motor lodge when we checked in and saw them everyday on site, they were friendly and kind and went out of their way to help whenever possible. Pooja was lovely and helped us when we needed it.
We stayed in a family apartment which had a kitchen, table, sofa, coffee table, king size bed, tv and tv unit, a wardrobe/cupboard and 2 bedside tables downstairs. It has stairs up to the messinine level which had 2 single beds and a bedside table in between, a cupboard and a fan plus 2 reading lights. Upstairs was also the bathroom with a separate toilet, shower, sink and toiletries stocked up as and when needed.
Outside we had a small courtyard with a picnic bench which caught the sun most of the day, was clean and was painted a light colour rather than just brick which made it nicer.
The apartment was cleaned daily and beds made with fresh sheets. Even the washing up was done if we had left anything from breakfast after going out early (not expected but was very sweet of them to do).
There is a laundry on site with washing machines, tumble dryers and a outside washing line. Inside the apartment we had an ironing board and iron which was very useful (although the iron could probably do with being updated as it didn't get very hot meaning it took longer to do the ironing!)
There is also a swimming pool though we didn't use this.
Its in a great location with lots of facilities nearby such as shops, petrol station etc. Howick beach is a 5-10 min drive, access into more central Auckland is 20-25 mins dependent on traffic. Lots to see and do in the area and Howick Village is really lovely.
Overall I would give this 5 stars, it is slightly dated in places but it very clean, tidy and the staff are lovely. We felt safe and secure.

β β β β β Highly enjoyed our two week stay in this Motel . Myself and my 2 daughters were greeted with a smile daily from Pooja and the house keepers. The kids had fun on the tramp and in the pool .They also liked the fact that the 2 single beds were upstairs. Maybe in further years they will have individual spas out the back in that beautiful secluded space.
