About Hutt Gas & Plumbing
Darren is one of the founding members of Hutt Gas and Plumbing and completed his plumbing and gasfitting apprenticeship in 1989.
Darren is a highly qualified Certifying Gasfitter (Level 2 CoC), Certifying Plumber and a Certifying Drainlayer. He is an IQP (Independent Qualified Person) in Backflow Prevention testing and has had a hand in all the major projects at Hutt Gas and Plumbing.

As a regular contributor to the wider plumbing industry, Darren currently serves on the NZ Standards Committee for Gas Measurement Systems. He was also involved in the SKILLS Leadership and Governance Group setting new qualifications for the industry.
When he's not helping our residential customers, you'll find Darren on his bike. He's completed Mt Taranaki, Rotorua to Taupo and the ‘Round the Lake’ event in Taupo several times and has even managed to get several other members of staff into cycling.

β β β β β We have used Hutt Gas & Plumbing on a number of occasions, to repair leaks, fix cisterns, and replace vent pipes, but primarily for gas services such as gas appliance installation, maintenance and most recently removal of an old unflued heater. They have always been proficient, polite and on time, including calling ahead to confirm their appointment and ETA. Their workmanship is excellent. What we really appreciate is the little extras unrelated to the job they were on, like putting sealant where required in the bathroom after noticing the renovators didn't do it, and fixing the access gate to the crawl space under the house when it had come loose from its hinges.

Today discovered gas smell unrelated to appliances - this firm claimed they had no one available to assist us in what could be an extremely dangerous situation. very disappointing. Called Southern Plumbing & Gasfitting - they could help Yay.

β β β β β After asking for quotes for the installation of a new gas stove and electric oven at several places, Hutt Gas were the only ones with a reasonable quote AND able to do the job within a month. All other places had a three to four month waiting list. The ladies who did the insatallation were professional and punctual. The office ladies were very helpful too. We have already lined up another job with them. Totally recommendable.
