The Indian Cultural Society is a charitable organisation, officially established in 1998 to preserve, maintain, foster and encourage Indian religions, cultures and languages for Indian residents within New Zealand. We promote better understanding and relations between Indians and other ethnic groups in New Zealand – establishing liaisons with similarly interested organisations both in New Zealand and overseas.

Our community observes and celebrates Hindu festivals at our premises along with various other activities such as our annual Food Fiesta events, fundraising for other charitable organisations and/or relief fund for earthquake or flooding disasters.

We work closely with other ethnic organisations, contributing to the multicultural ethnic diversity of New Zealand and have made valuable contributions to New Zealand society. We are proud of our dual heritage and responsibilities.

Tastefully and fairly recently renovated and redecorated I would say. A great facility that would be perfect to hire for any event. Very clean toilets and nice entranceway. I attended an Indian Food Fair and had a great time!

Went for the Indian food festival, was not too impressed unfortunately.. They had the the usual food items. Nothing wow as I hoped it to be.. I expected better.. The samosas were very oily, and mushy.. Not how its supposed to be.. The food was below average.. May have impressed a non Indian.. Anyway .. Hopefully next event will be spectacular.. :(

Was trying to book the hall for a function but found the manager- Sam, very rude. Made an appointment to view the hall but after waiting for over 30 minutes still the manager didn’t show up. Called him a couple of times and finally 50 minutes later he shows up with the excuse that he forgot! Then he starts talking very rudely and arrogantly. Didn’t bring any paperwork with him either but asked us to send him my email address. Still didn’t send any paperwork and on follow up, he actually swore at us and rudely told us he won’t let us hire the hall just because we escalated his behaviour to other management! Have never dealt With anyone so unprofessional and rude!

Good place to host events. There is a huge hall with 500 capacity to seat, stage, kitchen and nice and clean toilets.
