I'm sure people park here on other nights for different reasons also. Good biking trails when it's not blowing.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great little walk right on Invercargill cities doorstep. Really good for photography. There have been some hides set up to sit in while photographing but they are a bit too close to the carpark and you are better to walk around the estuary to get closer to the bird life. You will need a decent telephoto lens. Good variety of birds can be viewed. Theres always some one on the track, but its not busy at all. If you get into difficulty someone will be along. Bring a torch if you are checking out sunsets as it gets really dark and there are no lights.

Lots of changing views and wild life. Dry track after a rainy period. Various ways to walk or drive in . I went walking from airport.
