★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I purchased some split rail fasteners which I found were made of very poor quality material. I managed to snap two with light pressure during install. One snapped at the handle and one snapped around the round pivot. I then easily snapped the base plate with little force. The bronze material also chipped off straight away. It appears the handle design has been changed so less material is used making them weaker. I emailed Jaeco to advise them of the issue but they did not respond.
