About Kaitiaki Adventures
Born in Rotorua. Te Arawa, Tuhourangi & Ngāti Rangiwewewhi, Ngāti Tiipa, Te Atiawa ki Taranaki. Kayla has been a part of the Kaitiaki Whānau since 2013. Growing up Kayla attended Western Heights High School & TKKM o Ruamatā, then went on to study at Waiariki Institute of Technology where she received her certificate in Adventure Tourism. The Pene Whanau have been guiding in the Te Arawa Rohe for generations; there is a rich sense of Manaaki running through their veins. Kayla is also a World champion BMX Rider – She has won numerous titles including NZ Sports Woman of the Year BMX; Rotorua BMX Sports Woman of the Year; Te Arawa Sports awards, Whānau of the year BMX. Kayla also won Gold in the U23 Women’s Raft Team at the 2014 World Rafting Championships and was ranked #2 in the U19 Women's Brazilian World Champs R4 and #3 U23 Women's Brazilian World Champs R4. Kayla has raced in Waka Ama since she was a young girl.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ What an experience!! Went white water rafting and the whole team was just so cheerful, informative, professional and engaging! The 7.5m waterfall was awesome!! Big shout out to Jackie! Stay away from that office job girl! Arigato! Nice one team. We'll bring others back to enjoy the experience :)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Whitewater rafting with these guys was epic! The whole team is super organized, professional, entertaining and really friendly. A special shout-out to Sam, you are the best, mate! Sam was super friendly and adds a lot of fun to the trip. The trip itself was so much fun. The 7m waterfall was so thrilling and the rest of the river was just as much fun. You won’t be disappointed whether you are confident doing this sort of things or even if you don’t know swimming. Definitely will visit again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Tarawera Crater Hike was spectacular. There were some adrenalin filled moments climbing up a rock face to the summit, then down a huge scree slope into the crater. The incredible views begin only a few minutes after you step out of the 4WD van. Harry is the perfect guide, brimming with enthusiasm, knowledge & respect for this amazing national treasure.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We did the full day combo as a family of 4 (walk around Mt Tarawera and the rafting). The whole day was awesome - although we were a bit nervous about the rafting we ended up loving it and didnt want it to end! Guides gave a lot of information about the area as well as Maōri legends and history. Would definitely recommend to all: New Zealanders and international visitors

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Most amazing and memorable adventure ever I have done. Our Instructor was excellent, also had great team members. Instructor tried us unbelievable adventure with in this water which I never received before. Also, best credit goes to photographer, he took marvellous photos of us.
Must do Rafting with these people.
