About Katikati Kindergarten
Inspired Kindergartens and Home Based Education – Ngā Kōhungahunga Manawanui - offers quality early childhood education to over 1300 children through its network of 25 kindergartens and home based education services.
We have kindergartens between Whangamata in the north and Murupara in the south-east while our home based services operate between Whitianga and Taupō.
Formerly known as Tauranga Region Kindergartens, we are one of New Zealand's largest and longest serving early childhood education providers.
We are a not for profit community based organisation governed by an elected Board. We are developing the bi-cultural relationship established by Aotearoa/New Zealand's founding document Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
Our staff of more than 200 includes a 100% qualified and registered early childhood teacher workforce. It's one of the many things that makes us unique.
We believe early learning is a partnership with parents and whānau. Together we want to engage young children in authentic learning experiences with the space, freedom and care that builds self-confidence, independence and individuality.

The whole environment - from the organic vegetable gardens, fruit trees, native plants, beautiful trees, adobe brick hobbit house, wooden toys, the gentle rhythm to each day, the love and care which is shown to all children... I am so happy to be a Katikati Kindy Mum. My son is thriving xxxx

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Our children thrived in this Kindergarten it is all heart. It provided enough structure to prepare them for school but equally the freedom to explore, be creative and grow. The playground is a magical space - tree climbing, adobe brick play house, massive sandpit, vegetable garden and worm farms. The kids learn to care for the environment as part of the programme. Katikati Kindergarten helped us meet others when we moved here and both we and the children developed lasting friendships here. It's a Not-for-profit which shows as what if good for children comes first.
