When you put the words tattoo and face in the same sentence it can certainly increase the anxiety levels and then pair that with a fear of needles and never meeting the beauty therapist you would almost be resigned to accept what you have will make do and you will spend the rest of your days doing DIY eyebrows. During the 1990’s it was the fashion to tweeze your eyebrows as thinly as possible and having stopped after a few years I never regained my full natural brow. Not having full brows really changed the look of your face and gif me that made it hard to look people in the eye. Fast forward to 2021 I just accepted that my daily routine would be to draw in my brows which to be honest could be a real hit and miss some days. It was only recent when scrolling through Instagram that I stumbled across micro blading and at that moment I felt like my life had changed just in that instant. As we do I used google to search places in Christchurch. Prior to making a booking I wanted to let them know I had oily skin. It was at this point I was told micro blading was not an option for me but she could recommend Kimberley Atkinson who offers a powder brow. Well, for days I scrolled and scrolled looking for what powder brows were and what look I could achieve before actually booking with Kimberley. The process of securing a booking was seamless which provided full disclosures around the cost, estimated timeframes for the day of appointment that is needed for a touch up 6 weeks later. 11/11/2021 was the day and as noted above I was anxious… would I like it? would it hurt? From the moment you walk in to the moment you walk out I can say that you are in the safest and best hands possible. Kimberley knew I was anxious and within moments of being explained the process I was lying there getting the initial outlines done. Even at this point I was blown away with what I was going to look like. Once the needle work started it felt like little tiny scratches and this lasted about two minutes on each brow before the numbing gel was applied and then I felt nothing. The most uncomfortable part of those first few minutes on each brow was the feeling of needing to sneeze which in true awkward style I did - right into my face mask ? With just over an hour later I was done and at that moment of looking in the mirror I was feeling so humbled. Who knew after all these years of silent suffering that here I was looking in a mirror and loving the new Dee. There aren’t many moments in life that you could say that someone has made such a positive impact and today I can say that Kimberley has indeed changed my world. Kimberley is so personable with all walks of life and to be able to do that is an attribute no many possess. If you were/are like me and accepted that my only option was to draw on my brows then please… don’t suffer as long as I did and reach out to Kimberley.
