M	Matthew Stout on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ They cancelled the train with less than one day notice (about 16 hours before ride time) with choice to ride a bus/coach instead or get a refund. Cost me double the money to get the last minute plane ticket...I would avoid this if you are traveling on a timeline.

I wonder if you’re doing your job properly because I have the feeling you’re pretty useless. And the funny thing is that you’re getting paid for it. Shameless!

They cancelled a trip booked and paid for three months ago with a lame excuse about vaccination certificates and their inability to get themselves ready for them. This is despite months of notice about the use of vaccination certs in NZ. Its little wonder that we cant trust train travel in NZ
K	Krish Haldar on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Kiwirail operates Coastal Pacific train between Picton and Christchurch. They conducted themselves in a strange and unprofessional way when they accepted bookings for train journeys, took the money for the same and kept it for months, and then just a few days before the journey in Dec 2021 they cancelled the train even though alert level was fine for it to go ahead. This made our entire holiday plan go up in smoke as journeys were interconnected and getting a replacement mode of travel at that late stage was very expensive. Kiwirail definitely needs to pull up its socks and learn how to deal with changing environment better as such erratic changes in these covid times will be a norm for sometime to come. Poor show by this setup.
