Our Story
Locally based in Palmerston North, we at Knead specialise in providing delicious baked goods. From breads to desserts we pride ourselves in making fresh, tasty and scratch based baking.
As a kid and through my young teenage years I loved baking. So much so that with my parents and siblings help we ran a small baking operation making fresh sandwiches, muffins scones and slices from home and sold door to door to businesses in Porirua. I really enjoyed this and soon decided baking was a career I wanted to pursue, with the dream being to one day run my own retail bakery.
At the age of 16 I started working full time at a small bakery on the Kapiti Coast where I completed my apprenticeship. I didn’t realise at the time, but my future wife was also working at the same place. I learnt alot about baking here and am thankful for the training and opportunities I was given. I have spent the following years working in and managing bakeries in the lower North Island. I have continued learning as much as I can, have won multiple national awards for my work, and have also gained an internationally recognised baking certificate from the Richemont baking school in Switzerland.
After 14 years in the baking industry learning as much as I can, my wife and I have started this small business to pursue my childhood dream of running my own retail bakery.
Our love for baking and pursuit of excellence means we take great care in the baking process resulting in delicious fresh baking for you to share with friends and family.
