★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Was raining lightly, dripping through the canopy on the walk up to viewing platform. Just made it that better. Stunning views and the tui landing right in front of me was awesome. Highly recommend ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very cool place. Absolutely fantastic. One of the best bush walks in the world. While Mt Tasman and Mt Cook were hiding behind the cloud, the walk and the mirror image on the lake were still amazing. Will definitely make our Super Top 20. Awesome.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It was cloudy at my first time visiting lake Matheson, and the cafe was extremely busy 4.5 years ago.
I was lucky enough got a bit of blue sky yesterday, the lake was calm to see reflections. Although Mt Tasman and Mt cook we’re covered by clouds occasionally, still a peaceful place to spend a bit time on to forget about time.
I saw only three people on the track, it was really quiet at the moment. Should make to this place before the boarder is open.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ i’ll rate this a 5 for the main reason that this is my favourite lake. Easy walk and everything is just picturesque. Note that its circuit path so just go with the loop

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Planned to just walk to the first viewpoint then back, but it was so gorgeous we ended up doing the whole loop, which was absolutely worth it. Several benches with gorgeous views along the way, so I'd recommend bringing a picnic!
