★ ★ ★ ★ ★ In 2009 we paid Mike from Lawn and Turf over $2700 to prepare and area and sow grass seed for a lawn over part of our lifestyle block at Tamahere. When the grass did come up it was yellow and pretty thin, indicating lack of fertilizer and seed. By the end of the first summer the “grass” had struggled with plenty of gaps and summer weeds (paspalum) were rampant and with each ensuing year these weeds have now taken over the entire area he sowed. We did a rough trial of re-sowing two small areas and these are the only decent grass areas in the middle of Mike’s sea of paspalum. I not sure what Mike did, but $2700 is well and truly wasted. I asked Mike for a response on this and was ignored so hence this review.

Staff on-site during the job were polite and engaging. Very happy with the quality of the work and with the price. Would recommend Lawn and Turf and will use them again, if need be.

From the time of the site visit to scope and quote the job, through to preparing and laying the lawn and undertaking ongoing maintenance, I have been impressed by the clear communication and reliability of the various members of the team as well as the quality of the work undertaken.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ What a nightmare! The land around the house for our retirement was a bumpy mess of the remains of old plantings and weeds. We employed Lawn & Turf Contracting Ltd to get rid of the mess, level the ground, prepare the land for seeding and hydroseed new lawns. Four months later, the new grass was dying, full of deep holes, and the "lawn" was too lumpy to walk on. More seed was put down - it died. Complaints to Lawn & Turf Contracting Ltd for over a year produced rudeness, misinformation (worms?) and an offer to share the cost for reseeding. A legally employed expert stated that hydroseed was sprayed straight over the dead plants and weeds. There was no preparation, no levelling - the only remedy was to remove it all and start again. We couldn't face court action and lost over $2,000, which we could ill afford.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lawn & Turf seeded my lawn about a year ago and have serviced it ever since with quarterly spraying and fertilizing. I'm really happy with the way the lawn has come out and routinely have neighbors asking who does my lawn. When we entertain, everyone takes their shoes off and goes barefoot on the fine fescue. I've ordered seed and fertilizer and it normally shows up same day or next day. The staff are extremely responsive and full of advice if you ask them. I'd highly recommend Lawn and Turf for all you lawn requirements.
