About Learning Tree Childcare Silverdale
Curriculum
We are committed to follow the aspirations of the New Zealand National ECE Curiculum, Te Whāriki,
“For children to grow up as competent and confident learners and communicators, healthy in mind, body and spirit, secure in their sense of belonging and in the knowledge that they make a valued contribution to society”.
Te Whāriki envisages kaiako in early learning settings working in partnership with parents, whānau and community to realise this vision. The expectation is that, in their early years, children will experience a curriculum that empowers them as lifelong learners.
Te Whāriki supports this work by providing a framework of principles and strands. The principles are the foundations of curriculum decision making and a guide for every aspect of pedagogy and practice. The strands are 5 areas of learning and development, where the focus is on supporting children to develop the capabilities they need as confident and competent learners. Each setting takes these principles and strands and, in partnership with parents and whānau, uses them to ‘weave’ a curriculum whāriki that is specifically designed for their children.

From the care of the children to the understanding of family curcucircumst.
The teachers have been wonderful for our kids , we couldn't have forund a better childcare place.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Absolutely amazing centre. As soon as you walk in the door you feel at ease knowing your child is in good care as all the teachers are extremely welcoming and friendly. My daughter gets very excited and loves coming everyday to see her teachers and friends who she has made connections with. I 100% would recommend this centre, and would not go anywhere else.

As he continues to grow so does his knowledge and understanding, he is always coming home with new songs and dances which he shows us proudly. He also has a learning disability which the center teachers take time to support us with and provide assistance for where required. The teachers and centre managers are always approachable and understanding with our needs.

As a founding teacher since we opened the doors I could not feel more privileged to be apart of a friendly caring team and with a caring management team that care about the people and children in the centre. It is a home away from home and with environment that has been created for everyone in the centre come and see for yourself. I highly recommend Learning Tree Silverdale Early Learning Centre.
