β β β β β Providing you don't walk right past it Legato is neatly tucked away in a corner of the busy Wellington streets. They tote the cheapest pricing in that part of town which can be quite appealing. It's brew on the other hand is on the bland side, but you pay for what you get. They more than make up for it with their cafe charm, however with their helpful staff and seating that its crowded to pack as many peole in as they can. And make no mistake, it is hard to find a seat during the lunch period. The food is less than impressive but the general feel and setting is quite welcoming. Would I go back again? More than I would other nearby cafe's but only when the other better cafΓ©s aren't available. Good for a quick cheap fix if you're in the area

β β β β β This place is awesome. The cheese scones, the date scones, the lemon and date scones, they're all soooooo delicious! The other food they have is great too, and it's evident that there is love put into the mix when these guys are baking and cooking the food. The staff are super friendly and really good at their work.

β β β β β I eat here regularly, and usually the service is very good, but not today.
I ordered my salad to eat-in, they suggested it be heated, I paid and sat down. My lunch partner's food was delivered within a couple of minutes, but mine never arrived.
I asked where it was, they didn't know. And given they only make a limited amount of each of their salads, they couldn't give me my original order as the salad had sold out. The staff member then suggested one of the two remaining salads, which i selected one. When that arrived, the bowl was only 3/4 full. They offered a partial refund which I agreed to.
Where they fell down on procedure:
1. misplacing my order in the first place
2. delivering my lunch partner's food without checking whether there was any more food coming for the table (they left the table number on the table)
3. while leaving the table number on the table, not noticing that one person at that table was not eating .
4. offering an alternate salad which they didn't have enough of to fill the 'large' I had ordered.

β β β β β I love this place. Their coffee is to die for and their food is really good also. I wish they had larger coffees though, not that theirs are small, I just want to drink more than I should because of the great taste. Ha ha
Their staff are really friendly and helpful also.

β β β β β Legato is a contemporary, clean, open space cafe, they offer a range of snacks from scones, sandwiches and cake. My personal favourite is the mushroom chicken filo! You will find many people from nearby businesses having quiet conversations. 1 star less because they do not offer paywave

Good size, not too big, not too small, just right. Somewhat rustic looking. Very nice crunchy exterior. No herbs, no discernable cayenne, lots of cheese. Light salt. Texture is a little on the dense side, somewhat rubbery due to the level of cheese. Nice finish.
Really quite a good scone 74.
Very nice venue, good decour and layout. A helpful barista.
