Sign on the door stated "no tent sights, camper vans etc on the 27th of January" we turned up on the 3rd of February, no one was in the office so went to the managers house as stated on the sign if no one was in the office, lights were on in the house but no one answered after several minutes of knocking, ringing the bell and waiting to be totally ignored. Disgusting! Ended up spending the night in the car on the side of the road because by the time we found another camp site it would have been too late. Nice way to spend a birthday. Shot 'Mike' would be a beautiful camp site if it had decent owners.

β β β β β Tidy grounds and good facilities. Nothing fancy. Hiked the whole north island along the Te Araroa, and at $28 this was by far the most expensive price I paid for a tent site. Tent sites at the back of the park under the communal clothes line. No views and a bit cramped between caravans. Felt like $15 would have been a more realistic tent site price. My friends decided to move on because not great value for money.

β β β β β Unfortunately we came in to this place the other day, thinking it was the motel that we had booking for (which was the one next door). Found the owner sitting in his living room and the way he spoke to us was not quite friendly which prompts me to come and see the reviews of this place. The score does match his attitude.
