★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is definitely the place to be right now. The Locals is lekker. (South African lingo for saying something is great). From the time it opened it has been an extremely popular cafe. It is always busy and bustling with happy customers and friendly staff. The food is delicious and there is a great variety of cabinet food and food from the menu. The deserts and cakes/ muffins/ slices are melt in the mouth. Today I tasted the most delectable berry cheesecake. During the week a friend ordered the mint slice and in her opinion it was the most perfect she had ever tasted. The staff are efficient, friendly and fast. The decor is simple as are the chairs and tables. It feels like being in one's own home. It is children friendly with two areas for busy, little ones. There's seating inside and outside and today's lovely weather meant there were a great many people outside. The other advantage of the Locals Cafe is the free and plentiful parking. If you visit one cafe this year make it Locals.

Having moved to NP last year this cafe has been our favorite go to place with every new friend or family visiting. Very disappointing experience today though.

Prices have gone ⬆️⬆️⬆️ AND portions have gone ?????? That is never fair.
At $20 for a single potato rosti and salmon egg bene, surely there should have been more than the few flakes of salmon that were sprinkled around the plate like condiments!
The pork belly sandwich was so shrunken from original, like a wool garment that's been through the drier!?!?
The saving grace was the prawn and salmon salad. ????
Wanted to give 21/2 stars but don't know how to do the half star.
The fact that there were so many empty tables on a Saturday shows customers are giving their opinion with their feet ... Sad to see a good one go ???

Went here for a brunch with family was a great venue, staff were polite and professional and the food was amazing.
Also, had a kids play area which our 1 year old loved. Made us as parents relax and engage in conversation with other adults.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Absolutely loved this wee Cafe! We were looking for a kid friendly place where we could enjoy our coffee with a bit of peace... exactly what we found. A great space for kids to play, good range on the menu and in the cabinets, Staff were friendly, food was great and best of all awesome coffee just what we were looking for that went down a treat.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Such a great cafe. The staff are friendly, the cafe is clean, there’s an awesome area for children to play (with two full bookshelves). I’m so impressed, this is going above and beyond for your littlest patrons. We’ll definitely be back :)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We used to go there for branch almost every weekend. Great meals, friendly service at a good price for a family of 3. Since the new owners took over, portions are smaller but price went up (a lot). We will start looking for other options now. Very sad this happened to our local favourite.
