★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I was the on the 22nd Dec '17, but they werent able to offer tentsites for camping due to regulations. So i did not get to stay there but i got the speak to the owner and see the place. I believe it was about the toilet capacity not being able to cater to the number of campers (at that point in time). Heard from the owner it was being worked on, though i am not sure when having a non-powered tentsite there will be resumed.
The owner may look a little unwelcoming, but he was quite the opposite. He was really friendly and helpful in guiding us to the next nearests, as well as offered us advice on what we can see, along with free maps :)

Rude and abusive "manager" i never write bad reviews.. but this man deserves no business.
He started an aggressive argument with me concerning slightly parking in another spot. Another woman arrived too late (7pm) and he hit her car in aggression.
I slept with my hammer and we swiftly left the next morning. A truely rotten man and if you're female i certainly wouldn't stay here.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The caretaker of the place is the single most miserable, unfriendly, rude piece of work I have ever interacted with. The camp site is fine but I recommend taking your money elsewhere. Watched him berate and yell at a youngish girl who wanted to use the bathrooms before she left, mind you it was a whole three minutes after the 10am checkout time. Customer service definitely is not his forte. What a loser he is.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice alternative stay nearby Wanaka(within 20min driving from town center),reasonable price for this area($10pp per night,$2 hot shower,$2 laundry for over night camper),new toilet bathroom facilities tidy and clean.Owner(the lady) is friendly,campsite neighborhood are nice as well,with lovely dogs. Would choose again if visiting Wanaka again.
