β β β β β I never received any treatment other than a orthodontic consultation with Dr Robert Max.
Dr Robert Max was willing to assist where other orthodontists would not dare venture. He also did this essentially for free and in the face of possible contempt by his pairs in The NZAO community.

β β β β β I had treatment between July 2013 - July 2015, with my last check-up in 2017.
Very rude receptionist at the time, as an adult with braces I was treated like a child.
I still have glue on my teeth that was not removed properly, a dent in a tooth where they went too deep trying to get glue off and I have large gaps at the back of my mouth where they removed my teeth which I was told would close naturally. The gaps were still there in 2017 at my last check-up and remain.
When my braces were removed there was a slight gap at the front of my smile which again I was told would close naturally, it was still there 2 years after my braces were taken off when they finally fixed it after at least three previous check-ups where I requested it to be fixed.
My new dentist who is also a dental surgeon has advised in his professional opinion that I have incomplete orthodontic treatment as a result of being treated at Max & Beresford.
After 2 years and at least $12,000 to have incomplete orthodontist treatment is unacceptable.
My close friend also had the same experience and will not return for future treatment.
Im not one to complain and this is my first ever online review.
Note* I did not pay for the wire that was finally corrected however this was minimal and in no way compensation for incomplete dental work.
I have lodged a formal complaint with Lumino.

β β β β β I have been a long-term customer with them since Jan 2017. A few days ago I just had braces removed eventually. After that, every friend said to me it's an amazing improvement for my teeth. During the 28 month treatment, they were very friendly and professional. I think they have done a great job. Now I do enjoy my smile with confidence. Thank you all! Of course I will wear the retainer carefully and correctly as required and come back for check as arranged.

β β β β β We had an overall good experience with my son's treatment and the results were fantastic given he had several dental problems to address. We were in good hands with an experienced orthodontist who knows exactly what he is doing. The staff led by Dr Max were generally accommodating and helpful, though some are friendlier than others.

β β β β β Over the time our daughter had been under the professional care of Dr Max and his highly skilled team, myself and my wife have been greatly impressed with the marvelous results.
I would highly recommend our friends to visit Dr Max for their orthodontic needs.

β β β β β Extremely rude auxiliary and receptionist. Had treatment when I was a teen, had quite a few unpleasant experience with them. This place is dodgy, condescending, rude, overcharges you . Got my mouth burned by the acid etch a few times , which later had became painful ulcers. There were one time , they made the flexi wire wrong , and panicked, I heard 3 of the auxiliaries talking to each other saying :βjust put it on her anyways, donβt let the doctor know, it will last few days she doesnβt know how to complaint .β
I was 14 and was too scared to say something at the time. Few days later, the wire came off. I had to pay for the new one again.
My recent experience with them was horrible. The way Suzanne treated me was utterly unacceptable. She shouted at me demanding me to open wide. I had written them a really polite complaint email to the manager , only got a rude reply accusing me not being cooperative.
