A gem of a place in Richmond - beautifully flavoured espresso based coffee and very well made (older gentleman behind the counter.)
Even when they were at the end of a busy lunch rush, the young girl behind the counter was genuine and friendly. Only the 2nd time in 2 weeks of trying the local eateries that this has happened...
Don’t be sceptical when you walk in; where other places might look all the go, and don’t deliver, this is an unassuming place that over delivers. You can simply smell the home baking when you walk in - and it might all look simple, but I am betting it’s all gonna be well made by foodies, old school style.
I’ll be back. :-)))))

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Went early for breakfast..staff looked unhappy to see us as they had a big table booked..had to count the rosti's before we could order...ordered 3 vegetarian rosti breakfasts and all came with bacon on top....a friendly smile could go down well at Lydias

Fantastic coffee and friendly staff.We for recommend Lydia's Cafe from our hosts where we stayed and will recommend to our friends and Family who head to Nelson
