★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very expensive. I asked the receptionist what the dental examination costs. She said 165 NZD inclusive x-rays. But after the examination, I had to pay 195 NZD for the exam (despite of my intervention). Graham Hughes asked for 250 NZD to tear an already quite loose tooth, which he took out at most within 10 minutes. To repair a filling within 20 min, I had to pay 242 NZD. The invoice is absolutely non-transparent and you recognize only the overall costs per treatment (and no detailed positions). May be, it's because I am a foreigner/migrant. Sorry, I can't recommend this dental centre.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Brian and Leopard who are a fantastic team at Main Street Dental have made a HUGE difference to my life. I have lived my childhood and adult years with four top very crooked teeth in the front which was in total the sum of my teeth if I was to ever smile. My family always got frustrated that they never saw me really smiling in photos (always with a closed mouth). If I looked at anyone passing me it was with a firmly clenched mouth, If i ever forgot for one moment about my teeth I would see the other person looked shocked at me as I had exposed my teeth and would see them cringe, I would talk down or look casually sideways when talking, But not now! The day I booked them for a filling through a workmate recommendation was the best day of my Life! I had booked an appointment for a filling. Brian saw me, examined me like no other dentist has, told me he was going to fix my smile and then told me the price which I couldn't believe that it was so affordable, there was no pressure to purchase it was coming from Brians heart as both Brian and Leopard really care (which they have shown me many times). I have had the venners completed in amazing time and my husband has a new wife, my kids have a happy mum and the public get to see a stunning lovely smile, So so happy. Not only was Brian gentle, he did an amazing job and I still can't believe its my smile when I walk past a mirror everyday. To top this experience I have had numerous calls from lovely Leopard to check that I am still happy with my new teeth. Dont hesitate to book your new smile in, if only I had met them a long time ago! .Thank you to two very special people. Brian and Leopard

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ An extremely disappointed longtime customer, $180 for a clean! It was a 30-minute appointment that had the hygienist talking 2/3s of the time and spending only about the last 10 minutes or so cleaning and not a thorough one at that. Suffice to say, I will be looking for a new hygienist.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Three times I asked if community card accepted I was told yes. Waited over half hour in reception with no apologies. Once seated I asked to confirm once more was then told no.
UNLESS I paid cheaper option and they would extract tooth.I knew it was not bad so left and went to another dentist who filled tooth.
This is morally wrong-and unprofessional there are dentists out there that do care and just because you earn below living wage you do not need tooth extraction .
Ask the question and shop around.
Bedside manner was appalling.
To note most dentists that say accept community card actually mean extraction even though it does not need to be.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The receptionist here went out of her way to help me make an acute appointment, calling each day in lead up to check in on me. The dentist and assistant made my experience really peaceful, the dentist was sure to inform me of each step before he did it and gave good comprehensive follow up advice. A few days later the clinic called again to see how things were. Such good service.

My hygienist (Holly) and dentist (Graham) are wonderful and I feel totally confident under their care for expert treatment. My treatment is always explained to me so I understand what is happening during my appointment. I've searched a long time to find a professional dental practice like this. They are a great team!
