★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had heard of the famous Maketu Pies, so on a recent trip to the Mount, ventured to Maketu to find our Pie. What we found was a commercial building with no public sales, instead having to walk to the corner dairy with a small range (2 flavours) on offer in the pie warmer with ours having to be microwaved ... we felt let down. A cool bakery selling pies to the public, encouraging business, along with 2 local celebrities to boost your brand would be a complete turn around making our experience 5 star!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Yeah really disappointing.. Was hanging out for a smoked fish pie... What happened??? Used to be full of flavour and used to be nice flaky pastry .
Need to make them to original recipe even if cost is passed on to us the consumer.. Would happily pay for a quality pie..

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I just had your butter chicken pie and it was delicious. Actually had pieces of chicken in it! The pastry was of a superior standard to any other supermarket pie. After exhaustive tests I declare Maketu the best pie to be found at the supermarket. Most pies are loaded with gravy with no meat to be detected and plonk pastry. I will be a regular consumer. Keep up the fabulous standard.
