Staff on hand to meet us upon arrival. So close to the city centre to visit different eateries ideal place for a stopover when visiting Whangarei. In town to visit family preferred to be independent Marina Court fitted our every need ?

Would never go there again. Free WiFi but had to sit outside in rain to get it. No smoke alarm in lounge where a bed was. Loose taps in bathroom sink. Toilet was brown/grey in bowl and needed janola or a decent clean.

Horrible customer service! I would warn people not to stay here. My boyfriend and I booked for a room online at around 4.30~5pm on Saturday 25th August. We got there and the lady gave us a key to our room. We put our stuff there, only got rest for just a bit then we went out for dinner for around 3 hours. When we got back, we saw another couple in our room!!! Their stuff were everywhere in the room. The beds were all messed up and they already used the shower. We called the lady at the reception and explained the situation. She went up to our room and asked the other couple to leave because she gave them the wrong key room. She apologised and left us there still feeling confused. Then we went back to the reception and asked them to do something because I refused to stay in the room that other people had used. The receptionist (the lady with short hair and wearing glass), who was the only staff there , said that there was nothing they could do about it. The way she handled the situation was absolutely horrible. They should have given us the new room instead of giving that new room to the couple that were in our room. They used lost of things in that room already while we only put ONE bag in that room then left for dinner. We asked the lady to gave us the full refund if there was no room available to change. She refused and kept saying that there was nothing she could do. She started blaming that she just lost her brother and she only got back to work that day, and how she did not want to deal with this stuff. Excuse me but I did not yell at you and it was a business. I'm sorry for your lost but if you got back to work means that you needed to DO YOUR JOB. It was her fault to give out the wrong key and then she blamed us for being hard on her? My brother is a hotel manager (in another country so it's not like I tried to bring their business down) and I had stayed in lots of different hotels and motels. I know how these stuff work. Letting other people into our room while we left our stuff there is a very bad mistake. If that happens, they not only have to give back the full refund but also give discount for the next stay or something else . We simply asked for a new room and because there were no room available, they should have give us the refund. I asked to talk to her boss but the lady said it was weekend so her boss wasn't there. We could only write a note about how we were unhappy then she would pass it to her boss on Monday. It has been 3 working days and I neither receive my refund nor a phone call to apologise for the situation from her boss. I have never seen such a horrible customer service like this. This is not how a business should run. We left there that night to stay in another nice hotel and would never return or recommend anyone to go there. Oh, the wifi wasn't working either. If you want to stay here, I wish u the best of luck.

Was a little dark, some lights didnt work, taps had mould, 2 burner stove had rust, shower head kept drooping. Old and dingy. Cleaner was nice tho and bed was comfy.

Not what we expected. The apartment was small and functional with very basic provision. Everything had a musty odour which was a little off putting. Although close to the marina basin there was absolutely no view. We occupied room 4 where the window rattled everytime a car passed by. The shower curtain was impossible to escape, clinging to your wet body and making a nightmare of what could have easily been a decent shower. Clean towels and rooms serviced daily. Not a great feeling about this place but for a couple of nights it was OK. Last time wever stayed at the Distinction hotel which was much the same price and more comfortable. Sorry but we won't be back to Marina Court Hotelike.

Nice clean room, but no smoke alarms, dodgy ceiling lights, windows don't close & noisy with the main road. On the last morning we were there water leaked into our unit from upstairs occupant. House maid really helpful. No idea what the cause was, no refund offered, manger couldn't be contacted. I rang the next day got told by receptionist they had no idea about this, I asked if manager could ring me, got told they would, it's been two weeks haven't heard!! Poor customer service!!!!

We had no booking but went to see if we could get a couple of rooms. No one at reception. We were there for about 30 mins, no one came despite the fact that there were rooms available. Don't waste your time going there
