Recently purchased a van from someone who was a close friend of the garage owner. The van came with a pre purchase inspection which had been completed days before purchase by Martin Motors. Only two months later, and having driven the van only a few hundred kms I had the van serviced, and what they found is criminal. The radiator is damaged beyond repair, the valve cover gasket cap was so damaged it was practically none existent causing an oil leak, the A/C unit was leaking, and the engine coolant also leaked. The condition of the oil and coolant that has leaked showed that these had been issues for some time and not just recently. None of these issues were addressed or even noted on the pre-purchase inspection, which I can only imagine passed due to the relationship between seller and garage owner. The mechanic servicing the van couldn't believe that the van had passed or at least made note of the issues. Please just be wary of either having your vehicle checked, or buying a vehicle that has been checked by this garage, as I do not want anyone to experience what I have.
