Te Puna Tauranga Region at the top is a seat and car parking at either ends. If you want photo's the main views to Mt Maunganui are hidden by shrub overgrowth but there are other views.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Absolutely flabbergasted by the sheer architecture in the delineation of the stairs. Not since the ancient egyptians has the precisework of this masterpiece been recreated. As I ascended I felt truly as if I was climbing the stairs to heaven themselves, in fact I probably was as I'm severely unfit and likely almost had a heart attack while traversing. View was OK, also commendations to the solid parking.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We were about unsure about how long the stairs would take or how fit we’d need to be but went for it anyway - it turned out less imposing then we thought. There are regular markers on the steps showing how many have been done and where the halfway point is, with a convenient place to sit there. It took about 20 minutes to get to the top where we were treated with great views around the area. Worth the workout!
