★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very cross that TV ad stating Stock Clearance Sale at all .itre 10 stores does NOT mean anything at all. Informed by staff that they just have their usual pricing. That they are all privately owned and under no obligations. I call that FALSE advertising by Mitre 10 headoffice marketing.a totally wasted trip for us ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Only real place in Waihi for hardware, building stuff so locked in abit.
Some staff are great with service, others a bit ordinary - weekends must use casual/part timers as it seems to fall apart at these times.
Pricing can be on the high side and stock control could do with a revamp as often run out of basics ( no you cant blame Covid for everything)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Called this morning to ask about purchasing plywood. Was told that there was ply in stock by the person on the phone who was looking at the stock. Fought the holiday traffic trailer in tow to be told that because I was not a trade customer I could not purchase it. No problem with tradies having dibs but please communicate that information with your other customers. Disappointed.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great shop just wish the staff were a little more customer focused. Often visit and always have to ask for help finding things as no one welcomes or responds to customers obviously needing a hand. Such a shame and so easy to fix to give customers a great experience and make more sales.

After trying to get the attention of staff for at least 15 minutes, I finally gave up and went to the desk for the outside area. Explained what I was after and what I was planning to do with it. After a long go around and many repetitions, I was told that they didn't have exactly the size I was after in H4, but close enough to work with, so to get my vehicle and pull up into the drive through. I did this only to find that that person had left and the other guy didn't have a clue what was happening. I then had to do the same song and dance with this person, who then tells me that they do have what I'm after. As he wrote up the docket I repeatedly said "and both those come in H4 correct?" He assured me that was correct. He then asked where my vehicle was and I said in the drive through, to which he said "why are you in there, you should be down at the entrance. You'll have to pull around again". So I pulled around again. I started getting the wood loaded only to, thankfully, happen to see the sign for the wood....which was NOT H4! I told the guy to stop as that was not what I wanted and was told I was buying. Had to do the same song and dance with this person, who then just sent me to deal with it with the other guy again. No offers to try and make it right or anything. Acted like it was my problem they don't know what they have and what I was wanting. I ended up just removing what had been put in my vehicle and got a refund...Wish there was negative stars... this experience doesn't even deserve 1 star.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ They must do a pick up run to the retirement village for staff. Very average product knowledge or where anything is in the store. Staff walking around talking to themselves. It's an experience if nothing else.
