Known as Moai by the Rapa Nui people who carved the figures in the tropical South Pacific directly west of Chile. It's great to see this Moai overlooking the Wellington harbour and airport entrance

Absolutely gorgeous place to sit and eat dinner. Far enough away from the airport, but close enough to see the planes coming in.

A great place to watch the surf of Lyall Bay, planes landing and taking off at Wellington Airport and ships heading in and out of the narrow harbour entrance!

A perfect spot for views over the sea/harbour/airplanes landing/departing. It’s also a place for wind-surfing, flying kites too. The Statue is made of bronze/copper & it’s like the similar in Easter Island

It was a particularly windy day in Wellington, the windy city. I feel the wind the most along the Wellington seafront. The Moai are looking at the airport.

Moai statue from "Islas de Pascua" from chile gifted by the chilean government to new zealand because of the connection both places have with new zealand and the first Polynesian people that arrived to the islands.

Nice spot. The statue was ok. Came here only for the statue. Probably wont return again as there are more better beaches ahead.
