★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Another beautiful lunch today. Morell never fails to deliver. Food was exquisitely presented with the flavours to back it up. Pork belly was incredible and the truffle string fries...yum! Staff as always were friendly and professional. Will be back.

Negatives: We waited at least 25 minutes for our food and drink order to be taken. After we caught someone's attention we got the impression we'd been overlooked. Then someone else came and wordlessly set out cutlery. Another person came with the food, surprisingly quickly. We were about to start when they came back, swept the plates off the table and said they were for another table! Our jaws dropped. They didn't ask if we had started, and we could have coughed or spat on the food in the meantime (we hadn't). Wine glass servings seemed skimpy for $19 and $20. When we left, no questions about were we happy, just how did we want to pay and a friendly farewell. We agreed we'll just vote with our feet and will never go back.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautifully presented and delicious food indeed loved the buns will have those again . The male gentleman working in the bar area had a bit of a chip on his shoulder.. Not too friendly.. Riding the ego wave. So 1 star taken for that uncomfortable encounter . However the person who served us was very friendly and accommodating with great communicating skills... Place is a bit on the top end cost wise. . I eat out a lot so am comparing it with other similar restaurants. I like the area it is in quiet and peaceful. Went there midday on the week so not many people at all.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Morell is absolutely awesome and easily one of the best new bistro-style restaurants in Auckland. For starters, the vibe is great. It reminds me of Sydney's brilliant urban restaurants, perched on an intersection in a chic neighbourhood. Our table enjoyed a range of dishes and every single one was a hit. The service is warm, friendly and prompt. The wine list features some exceptional drops – we enjoyed a superb Tuscan number. Ponsonby is on our door step but we'll drive across town to enjoy Morell any day of the week. Check it out!

Service - 5 star.
