★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Extremely poor communication from this business. I took my vehicle for assessment and no information was given. Being a AMI gold standard repair shop I would of thought it would show professional quality and be very informative, but after the claim was approved and calling them twice I found out that the couldn't do the job for 4 months because they are booked until then.
They should tell people at the first meeting or contact when they have time to do the job and not waste people's time and money.
Extremely poor communication
Don't recommend going there.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Below are some key dates concerning my job with Mount Maunganui Collision Repairs. The dates are 2021.
29 June. The quote is approved by AA.
I am told that due to shipping problems during Covid that I will need to wait for a start date.
I then wait 87 days to start. I later find out from my AA assessor, that the parts were actually available in 3 days.
13 Sept. I dropped the Car to begin repairs. I was given a courtesy car for $35 fee. The WOF is out of date on the courtesy car.
22nd Sept. I am told told the damage is worse than expected and that the job will take another 2 weeks.
7 Oct. I was told that that car was being fixed by the end of the week and that it would go into the oven that weekend to complete the paint job. It was to be ready on the 11th or 12th of OCT for pickup.
27 Oct. I received a call from Tom notifying me the assessor had to be called in to approve additional work.
Basically, the assessor is being called in to assess damage they were aware of on the 22nd Sept.
28th Oct I spoke with Paul from AA and was notified the car is a write off.
It took 122 days to find out that the car was a write off.
That's 4 car loan repayments that could have been used for something drivable.
MMCR are a rare combination of incompetence, indifference and deceptive business practices.

They repaired my wife's car, mine would never have been in an accident (let's hope she never reads this) and the job seemed good for the most part although there was on mark I can't seem to get out of one of the panels that I know was not there before (because I fit the gender stereotype in our relationship and wash the cars). We also had a loan car for almost the whole time the car was worked on.

The negative reviews you see here are the few people in every 100 or so cars Tom and his team do that have issues. 99% of the cars that go into Mount Collision Repairs come out like new. I had my Mercedes AMG repaired here which needed a new door and painting. Car came back and I cant even notice any difference from when I got the car. Paint work is fantastic and the door is great. I cannot recommend Tom and his team enough. If you have a high end car - Merc, BMW, Porsche etc, take it to Tom you wont regret it. There is a reason why the insurance company's all recommend and use Mount Collision Repairs. A+ Job

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Pretty awesome experience with Mount Collision Repairs over last couple of days. Someone sideswiped our car. Made a claim online with our insurer. Mount Collision repairs rang within the hour and said to bring it in as soon as we could. They took a look and suggested they would be able to get the scrapes out with a few polishing tricks. Completed the job the next morning with no drama and car looked like new. Saved us hundreds of dollars. Highly recommended.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had my Hilux repaired here through insurance after I opened my door in 90kmh winds and the driver door was inverted. Very fast repair, fairly long wait however as insurance sent me there in January and job was not booked in until early March. They are very busy and very popular. Seamless repairs however.
