★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ordered fish and chips. Fish was like rubber. Had trouble eaing it but it was funny watching it bounce on the table as we tried to break it in half! Please source some better fish thats not frozen rubber hoki. Nice location otherwise.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I'm told this place has had a real turnaround in recent times. The proprietor Steve is friendly, hard working and efficient. We ate there all three nights of our stay. The 'pub grub' style food was very good and we ate looking out at the most beautiful bay. The shop is well stocked and the place is very clean. Steve's lovely partner makes excellent coffee. A mix of locals and tourists.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Store has potential but found the grey curly haired guy working there to be very rude to several customers, including myself. He made some weird remarks, refused to help with his own fuel pump that wasn't working so that we could refuel our car (you would think he would like the business but obviously not), spoke to another customer rudely for no apparent reason.Would give it a miss and just head over round the corner to Tryphena store instead where the staff are wonderfully helpful and kind.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ordered a fish burger and it was surprisingly good. The fish was crispy outside but still juicy inside. My in laws had toasted sandwiches and they were very happy with them as well. It was so good that I wanted to go back to have the same again but due to the sight seeing during the day didn't get to do it. Will definitely eat there again next time visiting the Great Barrier.
