★ ★ ★ ★ ★ After stumbling upon Murchison Lodge (with no hopes of anything beyond a good sleep and a decent breakfast), after discovering the exceptional accommodations, the charming little town, and the delightful local population, we extended our stay an extra day. The Lodge is immaculate, possibly the cleanest place I've been (and I have exacting standards - just ask my husband). Every detail of one's stay is intentionally crafted and well-executed to ensure a comfortable and highly enjoyable experience. The hosts Daphne and Philip have gone so far above and beyond, I'm afraid all future B&B accommodations will pale by comparison. I could go on and on about Murchison Lodge, but this review would descend into absurdity. You'll simply have to go experience this beautiful lodge and this stunning region for yourself.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Such an amazing find. We had hiked all morning and got to take a hot bath before dinner. The bed was comfortable and everything was clean. Breakfast was delicious traditional Swiss Bircher Muesli and yogurt (with lots of other options like eggs, bacon, toast).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great hosts made us feel so comfortable and welcome. They cooked a great full breakfast for us in the morning. Comfortable rooms and beautiful grounds with a nice trail for a short walk to the river. We only stayed one night but will definitely remember this place with fondness when we think back on our travels around New Zealand.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great lodge and lovely hosts! Beautiful rooms, great bathroom and they really thought about every detail. The lodge is located on the edge of town, with great views from the veranda. We were here in spring so no need to sit inside but the livingroom and fire place looked very inviting. The breakfast was delicious, so many choices for cerials/muesli ? they prepare you an egg any style you like. There is fresh fruit (no cans), delicious homemade jam, wide range of juices and delicious coffee. We really loved our stay! Thanks again!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing experience. What a place! Daphne, Philip and Ben, incredibly kind. Room was immaculate, comfy and breakfast exceeded our expectations. We walked around, you can see horses, chickens, their cat... love this place. Definitely we will back.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We've stayed with Daphne and Philip (and wee Ben!) at the lodge a couple of times now. They're such welcoming, lovely people. Really thoughtful and attentive. The rooms are second to none and Philip cooks a fab brekkie. The grounds are stunning too. We love wandering down to see the ponies, horse and chucks. Sitting in the new sheltered viewing deck down by the river (with a wine) is really lovely. Waking to native birdsong and the smell of bacon and coffee really makes us want to keep coming back to Murch! Thanks guys. We'll see you again soon.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice house with lots of timber accents. Walking distance to the small centre of Murchison. We were fortunate to have the house to ourselves. Clean and well appointed. Free snacks and full kitchen. Excellent breakfast options. Opportunity for personal interaction with the owners. Cannot recall seeing a TV. Would elect to stay again if that way again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place is amazing. The hospitality is really good, the room was nice and clean and cosy with a comfy bed. The bathroom was good with a super big bath inside. The living room and wood fire was super comfortable too. Breakfast was tasty and huge and I wasn't allowed to wash up. Really hard to imagine how this place could be better. Happy to recommend 100%.
