The pioneers of sign writing in Hawke’s Bay

In the 1950s’ Bryan James Nelson ventured into the world of Signmaking. He diversified into both screen-printing and t-shirt printing – quickly becoming the region’s foremost signmaker.

In 1989 he sold the business to his son Brent and since then the company has diversified further into the specialist field of road sign manufacturing.

Today, Brent Nelson has teamed up with Jason Petrowski and together they have implemented the latest computer systems/software, cutters, a state of the art HP latex digital printer and now have introduced a Mimaki Wide Format Flatbed printer to there fleet.

An important aspect of who we are and what we do involves staying ahead of the game. We are constantly expanding our technical skills, as well as staying in line with the on-going advances in technology, products and application techniques. We ensure we stay on top – so you do too!

Brent Nelson – Managing Director

Brent is a signwriter with over 40 years experience. Brent has helped diversify the company with new technology and skills steering Nelson Signs into the digital era.  A man of action whether it being sailing, riding motorbikes or a spot of fishing.  Brent is always on the move!

Jason Petrowski – Sales Manager/Designer

Jason has worked in the Design and Signage industry for the past 18 years, starting out as a Tradesman Screen Printer, who then went to University to successfully complete a Bachelor of Design. Jason’s knowledge and creative style blends the art of sign writing with contemporary design and materials to produce unique and individual signage.

Kim Nelson – Administration

Kim looks after everything Administration. While not working Kim enjoys riding her motorbike, camping and a spot of fishing.

Nathan McMillian – Sign writer

Nathan started out as our Screen Printer and now  fully qualified Sign writer with a keen eye for detail and loves to wrap anything with wheels.

Daniel Stoddart – Sign maker/Painter

Daniel comes from a painting background and is practical in mind. His skills transferred from the painting industry have complemented our team and he has become a competent sign maker and asset to the team.
