★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I love the Nevis road, a good 4wd track through some amazing scenery and historic gold mining sites. Great fun on a dirt bike, just stick to the track. Well worth the trip!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Excellent Scenery with great photo opportunities . Negotiable by high clearance Car to Nevis Flats from Bannockburn end. Cars can go no further from the Bannockburn end as there are many deep fords with muddy crossings. access can be gained from the other end of the road on the Garston Kingston Road to Queenstown.
This is one of the best rides for a Motorcycle with off Road properties in New Zealand. Many Water crossings with muddy ruts.
Good Mountain bike Road or 4WD Vehicle Road..
. Virtually no Mammals, Insects or Birdlife are left alive to view or study ,as most of them have been poisoned with 1080. The Plant Life is still intact. It is like driving through an area that has been hit by a nuclear explosion with Radiation killing all life and leaving the scenery untouched.
D.O.C administers most of the land in the Nevis Valley.
